WebWatcher's blocking feature is uniquely their own. In addition to allowing you to block certain web sites by URL, contextual blocking allows parent's to block web sites by keyword or key phrase. Blocking by web site category (pornography, gambling, shopping, etc.) is a great tool since there are many web site which parents are not aware of. No other parental control software features contextual blocking. Alternatively, WebWatcher lets you block all web site and only allow access to the specific web sites you choose.

Webwatcher's email recording technology is powerful. Information such as every email that is sent or received, who sent it, who received it, the date and time, the email subject and attachments (if any).

WebWatcher IM and chat monitoring recorded both side of the following IM services; AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), MSN Messenger, Windows Messenger and Yahoo Messenger. IM and chat details recorded were the date of the chat, start & end time, the chat participants, and the entire contents of the chat (instant message) conversation. When testing with other (less popular) IM software, again, WebWatcher was still able to capture chat information by using their unique Smart Camera monitor.
